Group Placement
The first assessment for a swimmer considers not only the abilities and speed of the swimmer, but also their safety in the water.
Assessment is ongoing. Swimmers’ participation in the Time Trials and Mile Swim is only part of the assessment. We take a holistic approach, considering speed, technique, attitude, and safety.
Swimmers develop and progress at their own rate. Advancing them too quickly may discourage them because the higher standard of the new group is too demanding.
The Star Clinic is supplementary and available to registered swimmers. All Star Clinics focus on racing skills and provide an opportunity to practice dives, starts and turns. Requirements are to ensure that swimmers of a similar speed are placed together.
