Assistant Coaching<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

At the Percy Norman Swim Club, two leadership opportunities we provide for our members are the Junior Leader Program<\/a> and the Assistant Coaching Program<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • You have been a junior leader with PNSC for at least one year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • You must 14 years of age by the end of the application year.
    (per the BC Employment Standards Act, any child under 15 years of age must have written consent by their parent or guardian).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • You must be able to swim and assist once per week with PNSC.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • You love working with our youngest swimmers (Grey and Yellow groups).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • WSI is a requirement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Note: This is a paid position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Note: There is often greater interest than positions available. Candidates will be selected through an application and interview process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Duties<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    • assisting group coaches.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Plan, organize and execute one swim practice per month for the group assigned.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Complete and submit a written reflection once a month. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • working closely with swimmers who are having difficulty keeping up with the group.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • working closely with swimmers who are having difficulty following instructions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Participate as swimmers in all PNSC activities deemed mandatory which include time trials and mile swim. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Training<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      • Training sessions will be provided by our Head Coach and our Assistant Coach Coordinator, providing you with knowledge and skills to work effectively with the swimmers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Ongoing feedback, mentoring and instruction will be provided by the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach Coordinator and the Group Coaches.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • The Executive of the Club will provide guidance and support to you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
