{"id":3549,"date":"2026-06-20T05:52:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-20T05:52:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pnsc.ca\/main\/?page_id=3549"},"modified":"2026-06-20T05:58:00","modified_gmt":"2026-06-20T05:58:00","slug":"junior-leading","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/pnsc.ca\/main\/junior-leading\/","title":{"rendered":"Junior Leading"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Junior Leading<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the Percy Norman Swim Club, two leadership opportunities we provide for our members are the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pnsc.ca\/main\/assistant-coaching\/\">Assistant Coaching Program<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong>Junior Leader Program<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<strong>Junior Leader Program<\/strong>&nbsp;involves senior swimmers working with coaches in assisting younger swimmers at practices. Although priority in the program will be given to returning Junior Leaders, a limited number of positions will be available for new applicants.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be in the Blue Group. There are NO exceptions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be 13 years of age by the end of the application year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have to be with our club for&nbsp;<strong>two consecutive seasons<\/strong>&nbsp;(both Fall and Spring seasons) in the year prior to application (at least one of the seasons must fall in the year prior) \u2013 attendance records will be used to verify applicant was swimming during this time and the Head Coach and JL-Coordinator will decide if this requirement has been sufficiently met.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be a current swimmer who regularly swims with PNSC at least twice a week.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must have their own personal e-mail address by which correspondence with the JL-Coordinator will be made.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be prepared to enter the water, and to demonstrate swimming at a reasonable level.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be willing to support the club by participating in club events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If accepted into the program, all Junior Leaders need to attend a training session.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more information about the Junior Leader Program, please contact Daina Baker, Junior Leader Coordinator at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:pnscjl@gmail.com\">pnscjl@gmail.com<\/a>&nbsp;and for the Assistant Coach Program please contact Isaac Baker, Assistant Coach Coordinator at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:pnscac@gmail.com\">pnscac@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Junior Leading At the Percy Norman Swim Club, two leadership opportunities we provide for our members are the\u00a0Assistant Coaching Program\u00a0and the\u00a0Junior Leader Program.
