Percy Norman Swim Club operates as a non-profit organization and is run by parents.
Registration fees from our members only cover a portion of the costs of running the club. In order to operate the club with this current low fee we rely on Community Gaming Grants (www.gaming.gov.bc.ca) and a variety of fundraising activities.
Even if we are successful in receiving the Community Gaming Grant we are required to perform fundraising activities to raise 25% of the overall grant annually.
Therefore Fundraising is not optional - all families are expected to participate in fundraising activities.

Some of the planned fundraisers are shown below;
Our main fundraising activity for each session are "Safeway Gift Card" Sales.
Our goal is to raise a minimum of $7,000 in net profit. The Gift Cards are available in $25, $50 and $100 denominations.
The Safeway gift card program is a win-win fundraising for the club and club members. The card can be used just like cash, has no expiry date, and can be used for any purchase in participating Safeway stores across Canada. You can use them for your regular shopping or sell them to your friends, neighbors, relatives and people at work.
The club will receive 8% commission on total sales. For example, if you purchase $100.00 of Safeway Gift Cards, the club will receive $8.00.
Since Safeway Foods only sells gift cards between October 1st and December 22nd each year, you will receive the cards in mid-October for the Fall Session and the middle of December for the Winter Session.

In the summer of 2009, government funding to the Percy Norman Swim Club was dramatically reduced by approximately 70%. However, despite this cut, our immediate and future plans were to continue to offer a quality swim program at PNSC at affordable rates to our members.
In order to offset many of the expenses that were previously covered by government funding, we started a Fundraising Committee at PNSC. Our goal was to raise enough money through fundraising so that fee increases are kept to a minimum in the coming years, should government funding stop. We have begun brainstorming many possible fundraising activities and are now ready to start implementing some of these exciting ideas - this is where WE WANT YOU AND WE NEED YOU!
There are many fundraising activities planned and therefore, we will need a number of parent volunteers to help us with these activities. This is an excellent way to fulfill your volunteering requirements and best of all, the entire club will benefit from your work.

Percy Norman Swim Club now has an account at GO Green Bottle Depot!
Please save all your beverage bottles/cans and at your convenience, drop them off at Go Green Bottle Depot located at Ontario Street & 7th Avenue. Hours of operation are Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. All you have to do is ask them to credit the Percy Norman account when you drop your bottles off. This bottle drive is ongoing so you can continue to recycle your bottles and cans at this location!
Do your part now - not only will you be reducing your carbon footprint, you will be helping the club keep fees at a reasonable level in the future. Thank you for your continued support!
The Percy Norman Swim Club is excited to continue with an on-going fundraising program that will not cost you one penny!
Our club purchases paper certificates and plastic cards from large, well known retailers at a discount. The club resells the certificates and cards to you at face value and the club keeps the difference as a fundraiser.

How the Program Works:
- Download the Order Form (updated for January 2012), which is available in pdf format and Excel format.
- Determine which certificates and cards you would like to purchase in what denominations.
- Return the completed order form in an envelope with a cheque made payable to Percy Norman Swim Club to Yan. You may also email your requests to nvhuynh@shaw.ca to arrange for cheque pick up.
- Your order will be ready for pick up the following week.
These cards make ideal presents for Christmas and birthdays, as well as your daily household purchases.
